On the morning of November 2, 2019, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha chaired the opening ceremony of the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS), organized annually by the ASEAN Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) in parallel with the 35th ASEAN Summit in Bangkok, Thailand.
Honoring technology businesses
With the theme “Empowering ASEAN 4.0”, the ABIS Summit 2019 focuses specifically on digital infrastructure, digital connectivity; ASEAN Human Empowerment and Development (AHEAD) as well as Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSME).
This is the most important annual event for private businesses, leaders and strategic planners to exchange knowledge, find feasible solutions to urgent challenges in the region as well as promote the influence of Asean - a region of up to 650 million people.
For the private sector, the ABIS conference is a bridge for them to meet and exchange directly with ASEAN leaders, through roundtable discussions and product exhibitions on the sidelines of the summit. Vietnam has two brands selected to introduce products at this exhibition: Dien Quang Lamp Joint Stock Company and Safoco Foodstuff Joint Stock Company.

On the evening of November 2, 2019, the ASEAN Business Advisory Council – host country Thailand organized the 2019 ASEAN Business Awards and a celebratory dinner. This award has been held for 10 years to recognize the outstanding contributions of private enterprises to the Southeast Asian region in 11 categories.
On the Vietnamese side, 13 enterprises received the Asean Winner and Country Winner awards in the categories of Most Promising Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Digitalization, Female Entrepreneurs, Enterprises for Sustainable Social Development, Outstanding Family Enterprises, Startups and Innovation Enterprises, Enterprises in Priority Development Areas and Outstanding Small and Medium Enterprises.
