Dien Quang and University of Technology study to upgrade urban lighting system in Ho Chi Minh City - This information was just announced at the 16th Science and Technology Conference with the theme "Green and Smart Society" organized by University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) on the morning of October 15, 2019.
At the Conference, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Dien Quang Lamp Joint Stock Company signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement on scientific research cooperation, suitable application technology for lighting products and electrical equipment. This cooperation is in line with the Government's policy through two projects on sustainable smart urban development in Vietnam for the period 2018 - 2025, with a vision to 2030, and strengthening the connection between universities and businesses.
Mr. Ho Quynh Hung - Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of Dien Quang Lamp Joint Stock Company and Associate Professor, Dr. Mai Thanh Phong - Rector of University of Technology signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement on scientific research cooperation, suitable application technology for lighting products and electrical equipment.
Previously, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Dien Quang Lamp Joint Stock Company signed a cooperation agreement to implement the project "Developing technology to manufacture smart public lighting systems using LED". This is the first project in Ho Chi Minh City to be implemented according to a new model, with the association of 3 parties: the state - school - business. Accordingly, the Dien Quang research team and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology have successfully mastered the technology to design and manufacture smart public lighting systems using LEDs to proactively improve and upgrade the lighting system in Ho Chi Minh City, thereby repairing and installing, not having to depend on imported equipment, helping to reduce costs to widely deploy products to the market.
Up to now, the research team has succeeded in mastering the technology of designing and manufacturing smart public lighting systems using LEDs with many outstanding advantages such as ensuring light quality, energy saving, long life... With optical improvements, the LED system provides better lighting colors, making it easier to detect objects, increasing safety for traffic participants.
In addition, the research team develops software to automatically manage the lighting system according to required scenarios. This project helps street lights increase energy efficiency, provide better light quality and can help save, and improve services, contributing to supplementing products serving the orientation of Smart City in particular and 4.0 technology in general.
