Many businesses choose to implement a "dual" strategy, both seriously implementing solutions to prevent and combat the COVID-19 pandemic and developing production and business according to the trend of applying modern technology.

In the context of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, instead of suspending or slowing down production and business activities, Vietnamese enterprises have sought their own directions.
Many businesses have chosen to implement a “dual” strategy, both seriously implementing solutions to prevent and combat the COVID-19 pandemic and developing production and business according to the trend of applying modern technology, ensuring the progress of the 2020 plan.
Technology factory development
In Ho Chi Minh City, businesses that have implemented the policy of gradually increasing the localization rate over the past years are promoting their advantages and reducing concerns about sustainable development, while still ensuring input materials for production.
According to Mr. Ho Quynh Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Dien Quang Lamp Joint Stock Company, this enterprise has prepared many backup plans and searched for additional sources of similar raw materials from different domestic and foreign markets.
Although the price of new raw materials can increase from 5-10%, even up to 20%, greatly affecting the product cost as well as the production plan of the enterprise, the company still accepts to maintain production activities, meet orders in time to supply the market.
In the lighting industry, LED chips are the main and most important raw material for LED lamp production. Therefore, since 2019, Dien Quang's high-tech factory has been in operation, producing LED chips itself, helping the company reduce dependence and master technology.
Also during this period, Dien Quang has a policy of exploiting circular economic factors such as building circular product sets and circular materials (reusing packaging, using plastic boxes and trays instead of carton packaging), recovering products and reprocessing materials (which can be rotated such as: metal, ...) from construction works.
During the pandemic, Dien Quang is even more determined and considers this a driving force for the company to promote the widespread implementation of this major policy, Mr. Ho Quynh Hung shared.
Similarly, KTG Industrial – the industrial development division of KTG Group has just started construction of the second phase of the ready-built factory project. This is the first design of the “4.0 Technology Factory Generation” – a strategic product of this enterprise in 2020.
“Generation 4.0 technology factory” is the second generation of KTG Industrial’s factory, combining pre-built factories and warehouses with 4.0 technology with the desire to create a digital convergence product between industry, business, functions and internal processes with the goal of optimal management, efficient operation, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
Mr. Dang Trong Ngon, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KTG Group, said that the new product is based on the idea of providing many utilities for businesses and customers.
Therefore, the "4.0 Technology Factory Generation" ensures infrastructure for investors and industrial enterprises in Vietnam, contributing to creating jobs for workers and promoting the country's economic development.
According to Mr. Dang Trong Ngon, currently due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, many economies are affected because they have to balance economic development and disease prevention and control, including Vietnam.
Therefore, the fact that many Vietnamese enterprises maintain stable operations and timely implement production and business plans and develop many projects will contribute to promoting the overall growth rate of the economy.
Do not be subjective in disease prevention and control
Many businesses have proactively established Steering Committees for epidemic prevention and control with flexible scenarios.
Typically, implementing the Directive of the General Director of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) on implementing urgent tasks and solutions to cope with the dual impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and falling oil prices, the member unit of the Gas Corporation (PV GAS) has deployed action steps to ensure production and business and ensure gas system security and safety.
At the same time, PV GAS implements a remote working regime that only applies to employees working during office hours.
PV GAS representative said that the corporation still ensures reasonable rights and benefits for employees, creating conditions for employees to feel secure in isolating/treating diseases at home; ensuring that the Corporation's production and business activities are maintained regularly and continuously.
To limit the spread of the epidemic, PV GAS utilizes all communication capabilities on information technology means while still maintaining confidentiality and transmission quality.
Most technology systems serving online meetings are fully utilized, ensuring that production and business communication is not restricted in conditions of limited meetings and contact with large crowds.
Dien Quang Company has proposed a number of solutions to limit the COVID-19 epidemic such as encouraging online work, meetings, online information, online offices, distributing and storing documents and data online; allocating production and distribution plans in a decentralized manner to limit risks...
According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc, Permanent Deputy General Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives (Saigon Co.op), in order to serve well and meet the shopping needs of customers in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic, limiting large gatherings in one location, Saigon Co.op has increased home delivery services; in which, more than 800 points of sale of Saigon Co.op including Co.opmart, Co.opmart SCA, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Finelife, Co.op Smile... will increase ordering and delivery by phone.
Specifically, supermarket staff will send to customers' homes an order form with a list of 3 product groups (fresh food; essential technological food; chemicals). Customers only need to choose according to this category and contact the supermarket (call directly or take a photo and send via zalo, viber, text message...) to the phone number on the order form to have it delivered to their home.
The list of goods in the order form is valid for 7 days from Thursday to Wednesday every week and the supermarket's deadline for receiving the form is 8:00 p.m. every Tuesday.
In addition to the order form, Saigon Co.op's phone ordering service continues to serve customers during the operating hours of the point of sale.
Recently, the business community and retailers in Ho Chi Minh City have been making constant efforts to stabilize the market, promote online sales... to help people limit going to crowded places with high risk of infection.
Besides, other production and business units also diversify solutions to adapt to the complicated developments of the C epidemic.Ovid-19 by providing complete and detailed information on the website, social networks, 24/7 online consultation on packaging policies, and fast delivery to consumers./.
