On March 25, 2019, in Ho Chi Minh City, Dien Quang Lamp Joint Stock Company signed a cooperation agreement with TÜV SÜD ASEAN to improve testing capacity, quality inspection of lighting products, smart devices and related auxiliary equipment in the field of lighting and electrical equipment.
Accordingly, the cooperation between Dien Quang and TÜV SÜD will focus on sharing technical and non-technical knowledge to improve the overall quality of Dien Quang products through TÜV SÜD's testing, inspection and certification services. In addition to supporting the development and certification of Dien Quang's laboratory system capacity for lighting products, smart devices and other ancillary products, this agreement also includes support for the development of cybersecurity solutions for smart home products and other related products.
TÜV SÜD is a leading provider of quality, safety and sustainability solutions in testing, inspection, assessment, certification, training and consulting. TÜV SÜD was founded in 1866, is headquartered in Germany and has 1,000 offices worldwide.
Currently, with the development of the lighting industry in Vietnam, especially the lighting and smart electrical equipment sector, the demand for product testing, system evaluation, and production processes to ensure consistency in quality is very high. However, not all businesses can build modern testing rooms with enough capacity to test product quality. It is a fact that most lighting and electronic products manufactured in Vietnam today must be brought abroad for testing. Representative, TÜV SÜD ASEAN, shared: “We are very impressed with Dien Quang's system of testing rooms strictly controlled according to VILAS 17025 standards. These testing rooms are capable of testing and verifying most indicators of safety, EMC, energy efficiency and other market requirements, especially the EU and US markets that Dien Quang is targeting. With this cooperation, Dien Quang will improve the testing and inspection capacity of these laboratories so that they can conduct testing domestically. This will create initiative as well as reduce costs and time for businesses.
Dien Quang testing room system is invested with modern electrical safety testing equipment such as: EMC electromagnetic compatibility testing system imported from Italy, integrating sphere system and LED chip foot temperature meter to control light quality, optical-electrical parameters, product durability testing system in different simulated environments such as IK 06-10 impact tester, lightning protection testing equipment, light flicker testing equipment (Flicker) according to European standards, discharge durability testing machine according to IEC standards... In particular, Dien Quang is currently the first unit in Vietnam capable of building a photometric data set of luminaires to serve lighting design through a darkroom system and Gonio-photo-meter equipment.
In the second quarter of 2019, Dien Quang will also put into operation the Dien Quang High-Tech Factory and the R&D and Testing Center at the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park. The project has an investment of nearly 600 billion VND. With in-depth and systematic investment, Dien Quang hopes to contribute to improving the quality of life of people through international quality Vietnamese branded lighting products and electrical equipment.
